Does Judaism have a creed? I know that there’s the Shema (though I don’t know if Jewish people consider that a creed or not), but are there lists of belief about God/faith that Jews must hold similar or analogous to the Nicene or Apostles Creed?

I’m assuming that…

I would guess the closest thing would be perhaps the Rambam’s yud gimel Ikrim.

So this happened today… I have mixed feelings. UNPOPULAR OPINION WARNING-I agree they shouldn’t be drafting learning guys into the IDF; Don’t know if this was the best way to go about whatever it is they were trying to accomplish though… This isn’t a battle to be fought from chutz laaretz. Most people in Manhattan don’t understand what they are protesting-much less have warm and fuzzy feelings about it.

“You mean that I have to wait SIX HOURS after I eat cheese before I can eat meat??” Well, often yes. The Remo (Shulchan Aruch Yoreh Deah 89:2) states that the minhag is to wait after eating hard cheese before partaking of meat, just as one waits after meat before dairy; this minhag has become accepted practice for Ashkenazim. (See Chochmas Adam 40:13.)

Cheese list additionally taken from OUkosher.org:

Here are some common cheeses and the lengths of time for which they are aged:

Bleu: 2-4.5 months

Brie: 3-6 weeks

Camembert (French-made): 3-5 weeks

Cheddar: 2 months to 2 years or longer (Sharp cheddar is aged for at least 5 months *)

Colby: 1-3 months

Edam: 3 months

Emental (Swiss Cheese-Switzerland): 6-14 months *

Feta (from cow milk): brined 2-3 months

Feta (from goat or sheep milk): brined 3-6 months

Gouda: 3 months

Gruyere: 7 weeks-3 months

Monterey: 2 months

Mozzarella: 30 Days

Muenster: 5-7 weeks

Parmesan: 10-24 months or more *

Provolone: 3-12 months (* If variety of Provolone which is aged approx. 6 months)

What does this mean??? The same amount of time you wait between Meat and Milk, Ashkenazim are required to wait between cheeses aged a certain amount of time and meat.

Is this real? I bagel all the time and never realized it! Especially because I don't look stereotypically Jewish and I don't dress in skirts but I feel the need to be known to other Jews! For me it comes in the form of wishing strangers a shavua tov as late as Tuesday and a good Shabbos as early as Wednesday. It's a problem.
